As the Senior Vice President of Global Branded Solutions, Discovery Networks International, Deena Edwards works with international ad sales teams based around the world spearheading the construction of global and regional branded entertainment solutions for advertising clients. Edwards’ efforts span across Discovery’s international network portfolio of 33 brands in 223 countries and territories around the world with a special emphasis on international original productions.
An 18-year veteran of Discovery Communications, Edwards has worked across a variety of networks and departments, including ad sales, affiliate marketing, and education. Edwards joined Discovery Channel in 2003 as Manager, Program Development, and, under her leadership, the network launched its efforts to partner with advertisers to create effective and original content. In 2010, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Integrated Content for Discovery Channel and Science Channel. In partnership with U.S. Ad Sales leadership, Edwards was responsible for building a business model that is still a critical part of the ad sales success of Discovery Channel and its sister networks in the United States.
Edwards has worked across many categories of advertisers, including VW, GM, Toyota, Universal, Sony, MillerCoors, Unilever, Intel, Samsung and others to develop unique solutions bringing clients closer to Discovery content around the globe.
Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Language and Literature from Frostburg State University and is currently located in Discovery’s headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.
