Keynote Conversation with VICE: What Are They Are Doing Right?
WHARTON FORUM 9:00 AM-9:45 AM Starting as a scrappy punk ‘zine in Montreal in 1994, VICE is now a billion-dollar-plus global youth media company comprising an international network of digital channels – such as The Creators Project, Noisey and Motherboard – a television production studio, magazine, record label, book-publishing division, and in-house creative services agency. While the company has received financial backing from WPP and 21st Century Fox, and regularly collaborates with brands on content, it still retains its street-level, in-your-face credibility, making VICE one of the most fascinating media brands of the moment. In this keynote session, Robert Friedman, CEO of Bungalow Media + Entertainment and BCON Expo advisory board member, will lead a conversation with VICE Chief Strategic Officer Spencer Baim, who'll discuss how the brand has evolved into a major media player, its approach to brand partnerships, and its ambitions for the future.
